C71520 Material Properties
C71520has added iron and manganese for excellent corrosion and biofouling resistance in fresh and sea water. Alloys with nickel content higher than 90/10 copper-nickel have enhanced mechanical properties while still maintaining excellent corrosion resistance.
In clean seawater, the alloy accepts water flow rates as high as 2.2-2.5%/s. The maximum acceptable speed in brackish solutions is up to 4m/s. The alloy avoids stress corrosion cracking and denickeling at high temperatures. Therefore, the alloy has good corrosion resistance to clean or polluted seawater and Jiangwan water, and is widely used in heat exchangers using seawater such as power stations, seawater desalination, and petrochemical plants.
